Clavichord after Hubert, 1776
This amazing little instrument is essentially a shrunken-down version of Hubert's popular double-fretted clavichord (see previous) tuned a third higher in pitch. The basic instrument features a painted case and a maple keyboard with walnut sharps. It can also be supplied in cherry with boxwood/ebony sharps as seen here.
The instrument's unusually small size and sturdy construction are particularly well suited for travel.
